NHTSA vPIC decodes full or partial VINs and serves vehicle makes, models and manufacturer metadata without a key. Its data comes from US regulatory manufacturer submissions; coverage is limited for older and non-US-market vehicles. Automated traffic controls apply.

• Decode a VIN to prefill make, model and model year in a vehicle form
• Look up vehicle specifications from manufacturer-submitted VIN data
• Retrieve vehicle makes, models and manufacturer reference information
