About

Copyleaks' REST API classifies text as human or AI-written in 30+ languages and scans text, files and source code for plagiarism against the web and private repositories, with results by webhook. Credit prices are not published; a sandbox returns mock results for free.

What you can do with it

  • Detect whether an essay or article was written by ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude
  • Check student papers or articles for plagiarism and paraphrasing against the web
  • Find out whether submitted source code was copied from the web or your repositories

Get started

  1. Log in with your email and API key to get an access token
  2. POST text to /v2/writer-detector/{scanId}/check
  3. Set "sandbox" to true for free mock results while testing

Example

# $COPYLEAKS_TOKEN comes from POST https://id.copyleaks.com/v3/account/login/api
curl -X POST https://api.copyleaks.com/v2/writer-detector/my-scan-123/check \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $COPYLEAKS_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"text": "At least 255 characters of text to check...", "sandbox": true}'
