giscus is a free, open-source comments system that stores comments and reactions in GitHub Discussions. Add one script tag to a page; visitors comment through GitHub. It needs a public repository with Discussions enabled and the giscus app installed, and it can be self-hosted.

What you can do with it

• Add a comment section to a blog or docs site
• Keep comments in GitHub Discussions instead of a database
• Embed comments in React, Vue or Svelte sites with a component

Get started

1. Make a public repository and enable GitHub Discussions
2. Install the giscus app on it
3. Paste the generated script tag into your page
