About

imgproxy is a standalone HTTP server that resizes, crops, rotates, watermarks and converts images from URL parameters. It runs from a Docker image, supports signed URLs, and is built on libvips. The open-source edition is free; a paid Pro edition adds more features.

What you can do with it

  • Serve resized and cropped image previews from your own server
  • Convert source images to WebP or AVIF to cut page weight
  • Sign image URLs so strangers cannot abuse your processing server

Get started

  1. Run the Docker image on your own server
  2. Request an image through a processing URL
  3. Configure a key and salt to sign URLs in production

Example

docker run -p 8080:8080 -it ghcr.io/imgproxy/imgproxy:latest
# Unsigned test URL (only while no key/salt pair is configured):
