About

RNNoise is a noise suppression library from Xiph.Org based on a recurrent neural network. It runs locally as a C library and builds from source. The example tool reads raw 16-bit mono PCM at 48 kHz, so other audio must be converted first.

What you can do with it

  • Suppress background noise in recorded speech on your own machine
  • Embed real-time noise suppression in a C voice application
  • Denoise raw PCM audio from the command line demo tool

Get started

  1. Build the library from source with autogen, configure and make
  2. Convert audio to raw 16-bit mono PCM at 48 kHz

Example

./autogen.sh && ./configure && make
./examples/rnnoise_demo noisy.pcm denoised.pcm
