About

Cloud Firestore is a hosted document database organized into collections. Apps can read and write documents through client SDKs or a REST API, while client snapshot listeners receive realtime updates when documents or query results change.

What you can do with it

  • Host app data as documents in a managed database
  • Sync a live feed or shared view with realtime snapshot listeners
  • Query collections from a web, mobile or server application

Get started

  1. Create a Firebase project and Cloud Firestore database
  2. Configure security rules for client access
  3. Use a client SDK listener to receive realtime document changes

Example

curl "https://firestore.googleapis.com/v1/projects/$FIREBASE_PROJECT_ID/databases/(default)/documents/cities/LA" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FIRESTORE_ACCESS_TOKEN"
