About

MongoDB's own managed document database service, running on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Adds full-text and vector search, stream processing and online archive on the same cluster. The free M0 cluster has 512 MB of storage and limited regions.

What you can do with it

  • Store JSON-like documents in a replicated MongoDB cluster
  • Run vector search next to your operational data for RAG and semantic search
  • Add full-text search to collections without a separate search engine

Get started

  1. Install the Atlas CLI
  2. Run atlas setup to create a free cluster and a database user
  3. Connect with mongosh or an official driver

Example

brew install mongodb-atlas-cli
# Logs in, creates a free M0 cluster, loads sample data and connects with mongosh
atlas setup
