About

Traccar is a free, open-source GPS tracking platform with a Java backend that supports more than 200 GPS protocols and 2000 device models. It offers real-time tracking, geofences, alarms and notifications, and a REST API. Run it yourself or use paid hosting.

What you can do with it

  • Raise alerts when a device enters or leaves a geofence
  • Read device positions and events through a REST API

Get started

  1. Install Traccar with Docker or a package
  2. Add devices and geofences
  3. Call the REST API with a token
