About

Turso Database is an MIT-licensed rewrite of SQLite in Rust with concurrent writes and native vector search. Turso Cloud hosts it with branching and backups and suits many small databases, such as one per user. Sync lets apps read and write locally, offline.

What you can do with it

  • Create a separate database for each user, tenant or AI agent through the API
  • Embed a local database in an app and sync it to the cloud when online
  • Store vectors next to rows and query them with SQL for RAG

Get started

  1. Install the Turso CLI
  2. Sign up or log in with turso auth
  3. Create a database and open its SQL shell

Example

curl -sSfL https://get.tur.so/install.sh | bash
turso auth signup
turso db create my-db
turso db shell my-db
